Site Installations Requirements

  1. All work to be carried out during normal working hours (08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday & 08:00 – 13:00 Friday) unless otherwise specified.
  2. All cranes or fork trucks to enable safe installation to be provided by others (unless otherwise agreed) are to be fit for use, suitable for the application and available whenever required.
  3. Whilst Lifting Gear Supplies endeavours to be helpful in expressing an opinion as to the suitability of a
    clients (buyers) steelwork or floor for the imposed loads generated by the installation, we accept no
    responsibility for any problems resulting from movement within the floor foundation or deflection in
    the clients steelwork.
  4. Unless otherwise agreed it is the responsibility of the client (buyer) to provide labour and all facilities to offload and move all equipment to a point adjacent to the installation site.
  5. Where any structure is to be secured directly to a workshop floor, the following will apply: –
    • We will assume that the floor is in good condition and the concrete is not degraded  therefore any breaking up on the floor during drilling will be the responsibility of the client (buyer).
    • Should the floor thickness be thinner than that recommended by us as a minimum for installation, or not laid on good hardcore base, then we reserve the right to stop all work and request the client (Buyer), at his expense provide a suitable foundation. We also reserve the right to charge for all time on site up to the point of discontinuation of work.
    • Should our installation engineer experience any difficulty in drilling the clients (buyers) floor due to excessive reinforcement bar or cast in obstructions of any nature, we reserve the right to charge for additional time on site over and above that which would be considered reasonable.
  6. Unless agreed otherwise it is the clients (buyers) responsibility to provide necessary certified test weights where these are required.
  7. In the case of a free-standing structure it is, where applicable, the clients (buyers) responsibility to provide power to their isolator, with a suitable junction box located at beam height at one end of the system.
  8. When a structure is to be bolted to, or suspended from the clients (buyers) own building steelwork, or wall, it is the clients (buyers) responsibility to provide a suitable junction box, air connections facility etc. immediately adjacent to the installation area.
  9. If permits are required to be issued to our installation engineers to enable access to the site of the installation, then these should be provided within 30 minutes of the request of our engineer. This is conditional on Lifting Gear Supplies giving reasonable notice of intention to visit site. Having fulfilled this condition, we reserve the right to charge for any waiting time over and above the specified 30 minutes.
  10. On the arrival of our engineers on site, should any work that was the responsibility of the client (buyer) not be completed and was necessary for the commencement of the installation, we reserve the right to charge for any waiting time or additional visit to site.
    We reserve the right to charge extra for additional costs incurred due to unplanned changes in the schedule caused by the client (buyer).
  11. Where an installation is to be load tested by us, the test will be conducted immediately on completion
    of the installation any delay or postponement at the clients (buyers) request could incur an additional charge.
  12. Should the client (buyer) require an independent party to witness the test, it is the clients responsibility to ensure that the independent party is available immediately on completion.
  13. All services necessary for the operation of tools and equipment should be provided by the client (buyer) free of charge.
  14. Lifting Gear Supplies will provide all tools, access and safety equipment necessary for the satisfactory completion of the contract, apart from the items specified in Clauses 2,4,6, 7 & 8.
  15. Where site induction courses are a requirement, this MUST be made clear to us during the initial quotation stage. In the case of our engineers arriving on site and being faced with an induction course in excess of 15 minutes, we reserve the right to charge for the additional time at the engineers hourly rate.
